About the Egypt Salary Calculator
The Egypt Salary Calculator is a free tool that shows Egyptian employees and employers what a gross salary becomes after social insurance, income tax and the Law 4.3 deduction, and the reverse.
Why this site exists
Most salary conversations in Egypt start with a number that is either gross or net, and the two are rarely explained. Candidates compare offers without knowing which one they are looking at. Employees cannot tell why a raise of 2,000 EGP adds far less to their take-home pay. HR teams answer the same questions every month.
This site makes that arithmetic transparent: you enter one figure and see every deduction line by line, so the result can be checked rather than trusted blindly.
Who maintains it
The calculator is built and maintained by a payroll specialist who processes salaries for a large workforce in Egypt and works with the Egyptian income tax rules and Social Insurance Law No. 148 of 2019 every month. The formulas used in day-to-day payroll workbooks are the ones that power this site.
What you can do here
The site is deliberately small and focused:
- Convert gross to net and net to gross, with or without social insurance.
- Add variable pay (cost of living, commission, overtime, transportation) and see how each component is taxed.
- Model a raise or a bonus and see how much of it you actually keep.
- Read plain-language guides on how each deduction works.
- Run a bulk CSV calculation entirely in your browser.
Privacy and independence
Salary figures you type are calculated in your browser and are not stored or sent to our servers, and they are not included in analytics events. The site uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which receive standard usage data such as the pages you visit. Any advertising on the site never influences the calculations. See the Privacy Policy and the Methodology page for details.
Limits
Results follow the 2026 rules as documented on the Methodology page. They are guidance for planning, not legal, tax or accounting advice. Your employer's payroll may differ because of company-specific components, exemptions or rounding. If you spot a difference, please tell us through the Contact page.
